Challenges

The Grand Union project presented several challenges typical of large-scale residential installations, requiring precise coordination and efficient implementation across multiple areas. In particular, ensuring seamless integration of the air conditioning and ventilation systems across different blocks while maintaining high standards of reliability and aesthetics was essential. Furthermore, the installation had to meet the needs of various spaces with different climate control requirements, from concierge areas to resident zones.

Solution

Samsung VRF Systems with FCUs and AHUs

System Components: 4x Samsung VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system
Fan Coil Units (FCUs): 27x FCUs installed across Blocks C and D to provide zoned and responsive climate control
Air Handling Units (AHUs): 11x AHUs strategically placed to enhance air quality and circulation throughout the concierge and resident areas

The Samsung VRF systems were chosen for their adaptability, energy efficiency, and capability to handle diverse climate control needs within residential environments. The combination of VRF systems, FCUs, and AHUs enabled D-Air to create a flexible and highly efficient cooling solution that could be tailored to different zones within each block.

Installation Highlights

Block C Completion: Block C was completed and handed over to the client, equipped with VRF systems that ensure consistent cooling and air quality across all areas.
Block D Progress: The installation in Block D is at the halfway mark, with ductwork and units being installed by our dedicated team of engineers. Once completed, Block D will offer the same level of responsive, efficient climate control.
Ductwork and Ventilation: Custom ductwork was installed to distribute air evenly and ensure unobtrusive integration with the building’s interior design. This allowed for both optimal air distribution and a visually appealing setup, aligning with the high standards of the Grand Union development.
