D-Air Conditioning recently completed a substantial air conditioning installation at a new Nissan dealership in Basildon. This project, completed for a new M&E client, underscores our ability to deliver high-performance and aesthetically integrated systems for all commercial environments.

Challenges

The dealership’s climate control needs were complex, requiring effective heating and cooling for both customer-facing areas and back offices. The project’s primary challenge was to provide an efficient climate control system that would meet the varied requirements of a large dealership space, including the showroom and office areas. The system needed to maintain comfort for both customers and staff across different zones while integrating seamlessly into the dealership’s high-ceilinged and visually open architecture. Additionally, the installation had to ensure minimal disruption to the dealership’s operations as construction neared completion.

Solution

Mitsubishi Electric VRF System with FCUs

Type: 2x Mitsubishi Electric VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems
Fan Coil Units (FCUs): 20x FCUs installed across the dealership, covering the showroom and office spaces
Design Features: Ceiling-mounted FCUs were placed in strategic positions within the showroom, optimising airflow and temperature control without obstructing the visual openness of the space.

The VRF system was chosen for its energy efficiency, reliability, and ability to support multiple zones with independent temperature settings. Mitsubishi Electric’s VRF technology allowed precise control of the temperature in various dealership areas, providing consistent comfort throughout.

Installation Highlights

Tray Work: The pipework and tray installations were carefully planned to blend into the dealership’s ceiling architecture, maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive appearance.
FCU Placement: Positioned high within the ceiling structure, the FCUs deliver efficient airflow while minimising visual impact, complementing the modern design of the dealership’s interior.
